Whites midfielder visits Soccer Schools

Youngsters on The Leeds United Foundation Soccer School this week have not only learnt some great new skills and improved their football but they got to meet Leeds United star, Kemar Roofe.

The Whites forward took time to talk to the youngsters at the camp held at Boston Spa School about football, how they were getting on and about his football career. Kemar also helped give out special awards to four kids that rewarded them for outstanding performance over the week and for being great team-mates.

Kemar held a question and answer session with the youngsters as they asked him questions about his inspirations in football, about advice he would give to them to become a professional and what team he supported. He then shared tips with the youngsters when they were learning their drills with the Foundation coaches.

Kemar said: “I remember going to holiday camps like this when I was little and they are great to make friends and develop yourself as a young player. I think it’s important as players to come and do visits like this and meet all the fans as it shows how much the club means to everyone.

“It’s been great to meet all the kids today and see what they’ve been up to – I definitely recommend any youngsters to sign up and take part.”

Simon Fox, Foundation Deputy CEO, said: “We’ve had a record number of kids sign up to the Soccer Schools this summer and it’s been a huge success so far.

“Player visits are hugely beneficial to everyone who attends as it’s an exclusive insight into the lives of a player. It’s an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives. Thanks Kemar for visiting us!
