NEW UTILITA ENERGY PARTNERSHIP BENEFITS FOUNDATION
Leeds United are extremely excited to announce a new unique partnership with Britain’s leading Pay-As-You-Go Smart Energy supplier Utilita Energy, which will see the organisation’s logo embellished on the front of all junior replica Leeds United away shirts for the 2017/18 season.
As part of the new partnership, Utilita Energy will donate £2+VAT from each junior replica shirt directly to the Leeds United Foundation. The money raised will help fund more vital projects and good work that the club’s Foundation does for the local people of Leeds and the surrounding areas.
Utilita enjoyed a fantastic first year sponsorship with the club last season, supporting the Power of Sport scheme in schools across West Yorkshire - and it is testament to our successful commercial partners programme the company has now chosen to extend and increase its visibility at Leeds United.
New owner Andrea Radrizzani is delighted the relationship with the Leeds United Foundation allows our commercial partners to help make a real difference in the lives of the community across Leeds and beyond.
On Radrizzani’s arrival at Elland Road, it was a core objective to bring Leeds United and the Foundation together. This new enhanced partnership with Utilita shows a strong commitment of the club working with the Foundation to help create real change in people’s lives across Leeds.
Paul Bell, Executive Director at Leeds United, said: "We are delighted to continue our innovative approach to creating added value from our junior replica shirt sponsorship with Utilita.
“Last season we were able to successfully support a worldwide campaign with our partner Greenpeace and this season, through the new partnership with Utilita, we can help support and expand the fantastic work of our Foundation in the local community."
Jem Maidment, Head of Marketing and Communications at Utilita, said: “The work the Foundation carries out has an incredible impact on the lives of so many children and young people in West Yorkshire.
“Significantly increasing our commitment illustrates how impressed we are with the club and the tireless work of the Foundation. It is an honour to play our part – as it is also an honour to see our logo on the junior replica version of such a famous shirt – especially at such an exciting time for the club.
“At Utilita we try and give Britain’s hard-pressed families the fairest deal we can. That will never change. As well as the close work with the Foundation, we will also be working with the club to highlight both our Domestic and Commercial products as we continue to grow and challenge the status quo in Britain’s energy market.”
In April, Utilita reached 500,000 customers and this month achieved one million supply points across the UK.
